Imagine Inventing Yellow: The Life and Work of M.C Richards. 1916-1999. Exhibition, Worcester Center for Crafts, October 9 – November 20, 1999, George and Anna Krikorian Gallery

Richards, M.C., Julia Connor, Paulus Berensohn, et al.

$100.00

Very Good oblong softcover, 52 pages. Color & b/w ills. The catalogue was published just at the time of Richards’ death, and though she was unable to see it or the exhibition for which it was made, she had a large hand in its content and design. Laid in are four separate ephemeral items: a stapled, xeroxed 1999 essay by Richards entitled Notes from an Experience of Illness and Aging [3 pages]; a double-sided xeroxed poem “for Sally” – Poem, 1999; a Memorial Statement from M.C.’s nephew Kurt Schloth and a sheet of portraits of Richards. Some creasing to each of these. Catalogue includes a Chronology and List of Works. Scarce catalogue of a very influential artist and thinker.
