Hardcover, 160 pages, Very good minus condition, some rubbing to boards and ghosting/age-toning to paste-downs. In addition there’s a 3 x 8″ folded typed errata slip stapled to the ffep containing 3 corrections, presumably put there by Russ. The staple has pushed through to the following page and made a tiny impression there. Dust-jacket shows heavy chipping to top edge especially on the back & crown of spine and rubbing to the corners but is not price-clipped and is missing no pieces. This copy is warmly inscribed by Russ to the late great Jill Johnston (1929-2010) on the title page in brown ballpoint. In addition there appears on the half-title page Johnston’s rubber stamp in blue ink which reads “Write First. Then Live. ” J.J. Johnston was a cultural, literary and dance critic, a memoirist, a radical lesbian feminist and a champion of the avant-garde. The jacket will be tightly mylared prior to shipment.
