This copy is from the library of of the late great Jill Johnston his copy is from the library of the late great Jill Johnston (1929-2010) cultural, literary and dance critic, memoirist, radical lesbian feminist and champion of the avant-garde, and it bears her distinctive blue ink-stamp on the half-title page page which reads “Write first. then live. J.J.” In addition, the book is replete with Jill Johnston’s notations, underlinings and commentary, especially on the front pastedown & endpapers but continuing throughout the volume. In fact, in all the books from Johnston’s library we’ve seem, this one is among the most heavily notated. That said we should repeat that her actual penned notes are largely confined to the front of the book while the interior has mostly brackets and underlining. Jill Johnston had her own personal perspective on the subject matter which this book either informed or confirmed, we’re not sure. Aside from the aforementioned the condition of the book is Very Good with some darkening to top edge, while the dust-jacket is Good only with chips to edges, closed tears, discoloration and general soil. We’ll now mylar it.
