The First printing (of many) of the First Edition of one of the most important books to come out of second-wave feminism, the present copy belonged to the late great Jill Johnston (1929-2010), cultural, literary and dance critic, memoirist, radical lesbian feminist and champion of the avant-garde, and the book bears her distinctive stamp on the title page in blue ink on the which reads “Write first. then live.” J.J. Condition indicates robust use of the tome so is less than stellar, with creases, rubbing & minor soiling to the covers, base of spine a bit worn away & text block darkened, but on the whole firm binding, no loose pages or other flaws. Scarce one of a kind historical gem.
