Jefferson’s Birthday / Postface [Jill Johnston’s copy]

Higgins, Dick

$225.00

Association copy. 8vo hardcover, 2 volumes in one, bound dos-a-dos, green topstain. Very Good condition, minor finger-marks on a few pages. It also currently has a musty scent from years living in a box. Dust-jacket has considerable chipping with pieces missing at crown and points; a few closed tears; and is darkened by age. The text “A Something Else Manifesto” is printed on the interior of the dust-jacket (now mylared.). This copy is from the library of Higgins’ friend and associate, the late great Jill Johnston (1929-2010), critic, radical lesbian feminist and champion of the avant-garde, and bears her distinctive stamp in blue ink which reads “Write first. then live.” J.J.
