An excellent set, Number 934 of 1000 copies. While a few volumes show some fraying to cloth covered boards (especially at rear) and four of the ten volumes have creases to the blank front endpapers, this is a remarkably preserved set, both inside and out. Volume I’s paper label on the cover is a bit stained. All albumen photographs and flower plates are clear and crisp, as are the hundreds of black and whites. In addition there are two original matted paintings laid in.
