Epistemology of the Closet [Jill Johnston’s copy]

Sedgwick, Eve Kossofsky

$75.00

Very Good / Very Good in black boards and dust-jacket, 258 pages. Jacket shows mild wear to edges. The book itself is VG+ but for the appearance on ffep of pencil notes and the initials of the late great Jill Johnston (1929-2010), critic, radical lesbian feminist and champion of the avant-garde and it also bears her distinctive stamp in blue ink which reads “Write first. then live.” J.J. Johnston refers by page numbers to phrases such as “67 Stonewall – quote”….”gay identity 79” and “homosexual panic” 185. See detailed image. Aside from ffep notes there are roughly 50 pages on which Johnston has pencil-marked passages of interest to her in the margins or within text with marks bu not written words. Further images upon request. Lovely scarce association copy.
